Frequently Asked Questions
The program is funded by the School of Social Work as well as the Student Technology Fee (STF) which is included in the cost of quarterly tuition. So long as you are enrolled for the current academic quarter, you may participate in the program at no additional charge. Fees will apply if the equipment is lost, damaged, or stolen while in your possession.
Both UW Bothell and UW Tacoma maintain their own equipment loan programs and, as such, students enrolled at those campuses are not eligible to borrow equipment through STLM.
Please review https://techlending.socialwork.uw.edu for exact equipment availability to see what is immediately available at the SSW Site. Walk-ins are the only way to receive equipment. Equipment inventory may be limited. The Seattle Campus STLP is also available.
All reservations are limited to 14 workdays. Extensions are possible, but not with the exact same equipment.
Short Extensions may be granted on a case-by-case basis with advance notice. Please submit your extension request to sswtech@uw.edu at least seven (7) business days prior to the equipment due date. Extension requests without sufficient notice or justification will not be considered.
SSW does not offer reservation renewals over multiple reservation requests of the same equipment as it adversely impacts subsequent reservations/students.
